I don't see this as crying at all. Not with the comments from others in this story regarding Avery, including this one:

that's my point.  this is hockey isn't it?  i mean i know it's sanitized some from the old days, but this is the type of thing i imagine getting sorted out via a fistfight or  dirty stick to the face.  not crying and getting a rule change

What Avery was doing is not hockey. And it doesn't read to me that Brodeur alone got the rule change*. Everyone quoted seemed to have a problem with it. My point is that it's a bush move and needed to be addressed.

It's why I love college hockey. No fighting, no crap B.S., just hockey. I'm not into the thuggery that the NHL can become. I used to be, but not anymore.

*after a re-read I still don't agree with your assessment of crying.  Wink Smiley

you misread me.  my point was not what avery doing is hockey, i was saying... THESE GUYS PLAY HOCKEY,  right ? ... i'd just expect avery to be 'addressed'  in a 'hockey' way.
