TM Tour Burner ?
« on: May 18, 2008, 07:06:55 AM »

has anyone hit one of these yet?

since our lovely chain of monopoly sports stores doesn't have it yet,  I was just curious as to:

do most off the rack have anything close to square face
what is the sound/feel at impact ? (like tin can, or more solid/muted)
does it look as pretty as in the press photos?  lol

not really interested in buying one yet per se, but haven't hit any new clubs in a long time, and this might be one i'm interested in 6-12 months used/closeout/etc

Haven't seen or hit one.

I'm still stuck on that Cobra, and very close to pulling the trigger.  I've seen a used one at a buck 59, and I have a 15% off coupon.

5pm SST + 4* closed face =  57% fairways.

Guy I played with today had one.  Very pretty club.  The taper effect is different but not distracting.

Average sound leaning toward 'pingy'.

Guy didn't hit it very far.  Played a fade bordering on slice all day even though the club was a couple of degrees closed.

Offered to let us hit it.  We declined.

I haven't played this years model.  I have hit the 2007 burner which looks the same except for the sole.  I really liked it.  I thought it felt solid and it didn't set up that closed.  I'm sure the tour version is even less so.  It launched kind of high and didn't have a noticable tin can sound to me and I hate tin can sound from a driver.  Kind of similar to the Wishon 919 IMO which you should check out as well.

If I had to buy an OEM, that is the one I'd get.

[Thread Jack] My Brother In Law just built this component "Sasquatch" look alike club.  460cc head SV2.  Purple Ice shaft.  Sweet club.  I banged the ever lovin' *feces* out of it.  Hit farther than any club I've hit.  Dead straight.  I may need one of those too.  Said he had about 65 bucks into it.  But I hit 'er like I didn't have dime in it my boy!  Grin [/Thread Jack]
