Just a couple weeks ago I watched a couple videos of their set at the US Festival in the early '80's.

Interesting idea, but I don't know if I could fit another one in there.

I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but what the heck.
Triumph is maybe one of my top ten bands of all time, Emmet was/is an amazing guitartist, and a very under rated vocalist and musician. I have never understood how the album
Never Surrender didn't push them to super dooper rock star status, as it was an amazing album, I can only blame it on bad management, or a bad rep at their label.

I thought this was called "Saturday Night" in Strohville population 3.
Nice pants Rik
Obviously he and Kevin DuBrow shopped at the same store.

Triumph never really fit neatly into a genre when they were at their peak. They weren't metal, they weren't arena rock, they weren't hair. They just kinda of fit in between everyone else. My perception (based on the people I hung out with) was that they sold a ton of albums, were a huge concert draw, everyone knew who they were, but nobody really considered them their favorite band. A bit like Whitesnake in the pre-radio-sellout days (LOL, that was what, one album?).
If they'd been a few years earlier they would have meshed nicely with the Rainbow/Uriah Heap/Head East/Pat Travers type bands.

They were probably overshadowed a little bit by that other Canadian trio.

Ya think.
Still two very different bands aside from the obvious, and one of the best live bands of that era. IMHO they deserve a place in the R$(&)R hall of fame, at least before frakin' Madonna, (too late I know).
This song hit (from Never Surrender) right when I was
