i did something similar once in practice in middle school,  totally rocked a line drive 3 off the transition in a 3/4 speed run  from the dead top of the key, hit that little box anchoring  the rim to the backboard, ball just shot straight down like a bullet and cleaned this guy out who was running laps for discipline reasons.
