Just back from The Cure
« on: May 23, 2008, 11:50:32 PM »

Robert Smith is kind of an old, fat *fudge* who looks like a cross between Heath Ledger's Joker and the missing member of Slipknot, but *fudge* it, they still rock. 3 hours with 3 encores? Who the hell does that anymore? Most of it was old *feces*, like 20+ year old stuff. Excellent. I almost pissed myself with excitement.

*fudge* all y'all haters, The Cure *goshdarn* rules.  Headbang

Never really got into the Cure, probably my bad as you've posted lyrics that I really like from them. But hey, 3 hours and 3 encores, that's pretty impressive, and you're right NO one does that anymore.

As an aside to that I took my Mom to a Springsteen concert 5 years ago, she wanted to go to a rock concert, (the guy does like 86 hour concerts with 59 encores right), he not only showed up an hour late but he only did like a 2 or 2 1/2 hour show with only a couple of encores...Springsteen...pffffffffft.

Quicksand--The Cure
I'm not a prophet or a stone age man
Just a mortal with the potential of a superman
I'm living on
I'm tethered to the logic of Homo Sapien
Can't take my eyes from the great salvation
Of bull*feces* faith
If I don't explain what you ought to know
You can tell me all about it
On the next Bardo
I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore

Clearly I was under influenced by the wrong people, I actually remember one of my friends saying how much he hated U2 and Edge, said that band would go nowhere.

I forget exactly what negative remarks he made about Smith and The Cure, but I know he did.

Oh that Gary Hedger, he could sure spot talent when he saw it.
