a little bit, here and there. don't have any gear of my own yet.  just loaner stuff with some friends.    typically hit 75-80% of inner ring from 10 yards, with the rest in the 2nd ring.   from 20 yards typically about 50% in the inner ring, 40% in the 2nd ring, and 10% in the 3rd ring.    kinda hard to get back into it.   just 1 hour or so every other month

Here's the ole boy.....

*Pic*

Cool. Cool Like the paint job, what was it originally?
Do you remember the poundage and FPS you got shooting it, it's only been 20 years. Grin
That's the rest and pin sites that I started with back on my old Browning compound. I was accurate with them too, but the new rests where the arrows hit nothing as you release them, are a lot smoother.

Was originally black, cannot recall the poundage - nothing too strong as I recall (I was a skinny little *feces* when I got it).

The rest was going to be the next improvement as I recall - the sights were just fine once I put the peep on there.  Lost my place to shoot when I left for college and slowly lost interest.

You could've bought a Mobile Home cheap on eBay ( or someplace else, if eBay wasn't invented yet way back then Grin ) and done this then. Cool Grin

Cool. One nice thing about archery is once your equipment is all bought there is basically no money involved in the sport.

Until you need new arrows, anyway. Cheesy

I'd almost say the same thing - well, maybe not exactly quite like that - but recently Kev's been badgering me to pick up a compound again, and I might just do that.  Still wouldn't use sites, but it'd still be a compound.

I have my previous Browning bow, arrows, fiber optic sites, peep site, rest, stabilizer, quiver ... etc, and you won't even try it. No No Cry

I don't like peep sites; that's why I've only been using a recurve for the past 12 years or so.  But maybe I'll pick it up someday.

I was not completely sold on peep sights before I got mine either - but there was no denying the increase in consistancy.  Its a keeper.

If you like those ones, you'd love the ones that have the rubber that ties to the string, (you can see it in the pic I posted) it *guarantees* that the hole will *always* be positioned perfectly centered, and not crooked when you draw it back. You only lose about 6-8 FPS with it, which is only a couple more than the one you currently have on, and well worth the trade. Nothing like drawing back and not being able to see through your peep sight. Bangs Head

It's not that I am unwilling to try them; I have, and I don't like them.  I might give 'em another chance someday, just not now.  Consistency, however, is a skill and requires practice.  While such devices can greatly assist one's aim, practice is still required, which is why someone can be just as good of a shot and just as consistent without sites as someone with sites.
