Let's review McHale's draft day trades:
Ray Allen for Stephon Marbury (Possibly defendable at the time, long-term Boston FTW!) Brandon Roy for Randy Foye (Horrible then, horrible now. Roy is a stud and Foye is still struggling)
Now Mayo for Love. We'll see. I do like other parts of this trade thought. Dumping Jaric's TERRIBLE contract (McHale's doing) and getting rid of Antoine Walker and getting Mike Miller in return.
So, Mayo-Jaric-Walker-Buckner for Love-Miller-Collins-Cardinal appears to be a good move right now. I have no idea what Chris Wallace in Memphis was doing by agreeing to take Jaric's contract and Walker. Except for battling McHale for the title of "NBA's worst GM".

did we watch the same ucla-memphis game, where love played against nba-caliber athletes (not even necessarily nba caliber player-athletes) and was practically embarassed off the court ?

Excellent post. Agreed on all points. I know I said we should have taken Love but...... ......... with the number two selection in the 1984 NBA Draft; The Portland Trail Blazers select Sam Bowie. .........with the number three selection in the 1984 NBA Draft; The Chicago Bulls select............. Doody Ebi!

Ah grashopper, you need to read my whole post. It's much more than Love. We are usually on the other side of dumping the *feces* (Jaric and Walker). The trade looks like Miller and Love for Mayo. As I said, we'll see. Mayo doesn't exactly inspire confidence in me as a leader. But who knows, the Wolves are involved so he'll end up being a star.
