Marriage must be protected!
« on: July 01, 2008, 10:17:56 AM » |

Fellow citizens of the greatest nation in the world, The United States of America, I hope you will stand with me and call your Congressman and Senators to support a bill I recently introduced. It has to do with an issue that I feel strongly about and so should you. It is simple and straightforward: Section 1. This article may be cited as the `Marriage Protection Amendment’.
Section 2. Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman.’.
One of the co-sponsors, my good friend and esteemed colleague David Vitter, feels as strongly as I that the sanctity of this great institution of marriage must be protected. We thank you in advance for help. Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend and I wish you and your non-same sex spouse and families a wonderful weekend. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi...query/z?d110:SJ00043:@@@PP.S. I am so not gay and David Vitter does not have a diaper fetish no matter what some two bit prostitute claims! We love our wives and family and by God we are going to prove it!

I'm so glad people like you are out there fighting to protect my traditional nuclear family from dangers such as the gay agenda, illegal immigrants and Domino's the Noid.

Are we anti-anti-gay legislation just because of the party affiliation? Or because we're 100% pro-homosexual everything? And we rag mercilessly on them because why? NTTAWWT

NTTAWWT Speaking for myself I do find it humorous that Craig and Vitter are co-sponsors of a "marriage protection" bill. And following some news events surrounding this past weekend's GLBT pride parade in Minneapolis I believe both sides could dial it back a few notches.

Or because we're 100% pro-homosexual everything? I'm anti-anti-gay legislation because I'm pro-anti-discrimination.

It seems that many of the most meaningful amendments after the 10th which also pertain to an individual's rights include language like "shall NOT be denied or abridged". (Obviously, I'm not talking about the 18th.) While many of the other amendments deal with rather inane *feces*, they're necessary because they detail how the government should function.
Having said that, I'm against any kind of amendment whose underlying intention is to "deny or abridge" personal freedoms and impinge upon states' rights. I'm also against littering the Constitution with inane *feces* that has nothing to do with how the government should be run.
If these *fudge*wads want to define what marriage is, they should take it up with Webster's.
