Golf weather
« on: July 18, 2008, 11:02:03 AM »

Here in Texas it is in the middle of what I consider my golf off season. It is so dang hot down here it is too much to be outside for 4+ hours.

I prefer mid to upper 60's and low 70's. A drizzle is fine too. I don't mind wind either.

What do you prefer?

IMO, mid 70s to low 80s is ideal. I don't mind playing in the cold as long as it's sunny and dry, and I don't mind playing in the rain as long as it's warm. Wind doesn't bother me unless it's steady gale-force type winds. I'm not a good enough golfer for wind to really affect my game.

Meh.  I'll play in pretty much anything.

Although the one thing I guess I don't like to play in is dark.  You know when you go out with that one or 2 guys and they are intent to squeeze every last ounce of golf out of the 17.50 twilight rate they paid.

"Sounded good, although I think it may have gone a little right."

Dude!  It's 10:30.  Let it go.

I like it hot. Devil

I hate playing in cold weather, I have been watching the British Open thinking, why do they even bother going out in that weather. Huh?

Whatever the weather is when I reach the course, that's the weather I like to play in.  I really don't care.  I've been known to race out to the links-style course when it's especially windy, just for the "links" experience.

Except dark, of course, but I don't consider it "playing golf" when it's dark.

You're the only crazy bastage I've met who is goofy enough to hang with me in weather fit only for fish.  Hardened the *fudge* way up for sure.

Played the last two holes at Pacific Dunes in the very nearly fully dark.  Played the last 3-4 holes at Lahinch in absolute, west coast of Ireland, million miles from a city, way out in the country, pitch *goshdarn* black.
