Took a day trip there from Cancun. Didn't spend much time on land though. We got right on a boat to go snorkeling a few miles off shore. The snorkeling conditions were amazing, but the waves were breaking so hard, most of us had to expel over the side of the boat. The fish certainly enjoyed it.
