Almost irony.....
« on: August 14, 2008, 03:23:48 PM »

...then I read the rest of the bumper sticker.

I'm driving behind a Hummer, the full sized model, when I notice a bumper sticker in the back window that says:

Earth First!

I'm thinking about the big ass Hummer and the huge irony of an "Earth First" bumper sticker being on it... when I get close enough to see the fine print....

"We'll strip mine the other planets later"

What do you expect you tree huggin hobbit. Humans are locusts that are devouring all the resources of this planet without respect to future generations.

Wow did I just say that?

A few months ago, I saw a Hummer H2 with a bumper sticker that read "Powered by Jesus". You know it's getting bad when people have to pray for better gas mileage.  Grin

Seriously:

I've driven a tactical (read: Full Sized AMG) Hummer, and it's IMPOSSIBLE to get stuck in all but terrain that would stop a tracked vehicle, and not even alot of that.

Maybe the guys (GASP) actually the kind of person that needs such a vehicle, rather than just buying one out of fear or overcompensation.

Since the H2 is little more than a dressed up Tahoe, which of the three categories do you fall into?

Not really.

There are alot of reasons to buy a full sized Hummer, and not all of them are bad.

It's seriously the baddest off the shelf ORV there is.

An H2 or H3 is a different matter all together.

It seems it would be easy to assume, though, that a guy with an assfaced sticker like that on his vehicle is probably an assface, regardless of what he's driving or whether he has a legitimate reason to be driving a full-sized hummer in the city (and I can't imagine what that legitimate reason might be).

YMMV.

I read to the bottom before I had any opportunity to get upset by anything.  No worries.

Are you guys married?

In the interest of full disclosure I should mention that I spoke with MFAWG by phone last night in a dream.  I don't remember the subject but I assume it wasn't politics as I didn't wake up in a cold sweat.

I was embarrassed as I didn't know how to pronounce his name.  Is it EM-fawg?  Is it m'FAWG?  Is it myfriendlyautomobileworkingguy?  Is it mother*fudge*er*charmin*gob*feces*e?  I tried many combinations, perhaps even more than actually exist, and still couldn't get it right.  Almost ironically neither could he.

I always figured his last name to be Fawg and his first name to be Mike, or Mark, or Marcy or something. But I like gleek's explanation better.
