Interesting thing happened this morning.
« on: August 16, 2008, 07:39:12 PM »

We were getting ready to mow the yard at 8:30 this morning and we started to hear music. It was close. The music was getting louder so we moved to the front and what we saw was the high school marching band was at the end of our street. As they came down they stopped at the corner (about 2 houses down from us) and played two songs.

The band marched from our street to the grocery store about 2 miles away. They would stop along the way to play for people.

Since the band woke all our neighbors up we had no problem starting up the lawn mower and worrying about bothering the neighbors.

I am unfamiliar with this "we" concept when it comes to mowing the lawn.

I know when the wife says "we need to do something" it actually means I need to do something. That's all I really know about "we" as it relates to mowing the lawn.

Does that definition of "we" also apply when it comes to ****?

Two questions come to mind here:

1 What were you thinking getting ready to mow the lawn at 8:30am on a Saturday no less. Isn't there some unwritten law about not starting up a lwan mowers until at least 11:00am?

2 I still don't get High School Marching Bands, unless of course you're some kind of drum major, what's the point?

trust me, as someone who worked, as a serious estimate, 100 yards/summer for about 8 years in Texas... the typical temp from july - mid august is something like this

830 AM temp is 85
1100 AM temp is 95
1 PM temp is 100
3 PM temp is 105

you get as much done by 10AM as possible  LOL  neighbors annoyed by noise be damned.

I fail to see your point...

Temps here over summer aren't that much different
