My point is a rookie QB sitting one year...vs. 3 years of give him a chance to learn it.....it's not rocket science.  After 3 years you either get it or you don't.  I haven't seen it.  FTR, Chilly has to go as well.

Culpepper was a 1st round pick, T.Jack basically a 3rd. One will take more time to develop. That (shouldn't be) rocket science either.

and a W anyways
let me know when Tchoke has a super bowl ring

T.Jack was 8-4 as a first year starter last year, so then only stats mattered since he was getting the wins ... but when its the Steelers only wins matter. Tongue

1st year, ben 14-1 (or 13-1?)  and 98.+  passer rating.   better in both aspects.  SB win in 2nd year.

wait a minute,  Tchoke was 8-4 in his 2nd year, not his 1st year

I think most of that was Peterson and the Defense. Every year he has had more Int then TD's except his first year where he had 1 of each.

There were people down here that thought Quincy Carter was going to be the next best thing. But sometimes you have cut your losses and move on. Could he be a good QB? sure but the Vikes need a really good one right now. The Vikes should be 2-0 instead of 0-2.

Correct, I didn't say his first starts, I said from his first year starting. As in going into the year as the starter.

I think most of that was Peterson and the Defense.

Yeah ... sounds exactly like Roethlisberger's rookie year. Only 4 games over 200 yards passing. 5 games under 20 attempts. He was in a
run heavy offense with Jerome Bettis and Duce Staley, and a good defense, he just had to manage the game and not lose it. Which he did very well.

OK so lets say you are the head coach. You are 0-2. What is your plan over the next 5 games. You play Carolina, Ten, NO, Den, and Chi. Easily 4 out of the 5 should be wins. And you can argue that you should win all 5. But devil's advocate here, what if you don't? How long do you go before pulling the plug? Or do you pull the plug? Is there a point when you say enough is enough?

Serious questions here. You could say the Vikes will win all the rest and there will be no argument. But if you were Childress you would have to face these questions and you have to have a plan. You have to consider the "what ifs". So what is your plan?

The Vikes will be lucky to go 3-2 in that stretch, and 2-3 looks far more likely.

I was just listening to my go-to afternoon radio guy and he played a clip from Chilly's press conference today.

It sure sounds like Tarvaris' leash got shortened today. The comments from the head coach weren't exactly confidence boosting for T-Jack. He'll start this week. Lay and egg and I will bet money there will be a change for week 4.

I didn't know Gus Frerotte was still playing.

Punchless Vikings bench Jackson, turn to Frerotte as starter
