I'm kind of mixed on this.  I fear that Chilly folded to outside pressures.  (probably not the least of which from Zygi)  I'm not sure that what appears to be bad/inconsisstant play is all his fault.  Several other factors need to be addressed.

Gus isn't the answer.  If it were a say:  Favre, or McNabb.........Fine I'm all about it.  Even like a Derek
Anderson or a Mat Schaub..........sure.

But to say look take a seat, this guy will drive us where we need to go, while you take more time and study and get better....it ain't gonna happen with Frerrote.

He's not gonna progress anymore sitting.  He needs game time.

Like I said.  I dunno.  We'll see what happens.

This happens all the time. Buffalo, Miami, Dallas, SF, Arizona (although right now their problem is injuries), Washington, Oakland, Denver, etc... All of these teams have had a QB be named the future of the team only be be benched within a year or two.

Is Gus the answer? No. Is he a quick fix? Possibly but probably not. Should the Vikes look to pick someone up? Yes. If anything to help Jackson. If there is something in him that Childress sees then maybe he just needs a little veteran push. On the other hand Jackson may not be a top NFL QB.

It will be interesting to see what Gus does over the next 2 games.

I'm already seeing positives in this!

I'll get a reprieve from all of the ignorant rubes up here that haven't figured out how to pronounce his name after three *goshdarn* years.

No more listening to Travaris, or my favorite tra various.

i see this move as giving the vikes an extra 2% chance of winning this week.

LOL  That's .3 percent higher than Accuscore ran it in simulations.

LOL, based on what I've seen from them the last few years.... anytime accuscore has a game between 57-43 and closer I would bet against their 'favorite'

I was just listening to my go-to afternoon radio guy and he played a clip from Chilly's press conference today.

It sure sounds like Tarvaris' leash got shortened today. The comments from the head coach weren't exactly confidence boosting for T-Jack. He'll start this week. Lay and egg and I will bet money there will be a change for week 4.

I'm kind of mixed on this.  I fear that Chilly folded to outside pressures.  (probably not the least of which from Zygi)  I'm not sure that what appears to be bad/inconsisstant play is all his fault.  Several other factors need to be addressed.

Chilly got some heat. Either from Zygi or the players but I don't think he made this decision by himself. And after I thought about it I don't think you can put all the blame on T-Jack. Case in point, Shiancoe catches that TD and this thread doesn't exist. There's a guy who should be outright released.

I agree with stroh. Frerotte ain't the answer and it shows how ill-prepared the Vikes were in case Jackson struggled. Which is inexcusable.

Ruh roh.  I'm sure this will move the line a little, or at give Gus a good excuse if we do lose Sunday.

Peterson with Hammy injury.
