Thunbs Down (not that they would ever pick an act I like, this is simply worse than average and an incredibly boring choice)

I'll argue he's a better fit for the Super Bowl than some recent picks. I know he's not a fan favorite around here but it's the NFL - boring and safe is their mission statement.

God, I just looked at who the NFL has had for the halftime show:

2008: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

2007: Prince  Disgusted

2006: Rolling Stones  meh.

2005: McCartney. meh x2. (I'm due to get hit by lightning but I was never a big Beatles fan.)

2004:  Lips Sealed
Jessica Simpson with University of Houston and Texas Southern bands,
Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Nelly, P. Diddy, Kid Rock

2003: Shania Twain, No Doubt, Sting         WTF?

2002: U2

2001: The Kings of Rock and Pop      WTF? x2
Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock (pre-recorded intro skit)
Aerosmith, 'N Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Nelly

2000: Tapestry of Nations
Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Toni Braxton, 80-person choir
Edward James Olmos (narrator)

The list goes on:   http://en.wikipedia.org/w...Super_Bowl_halftime_shows

As I looked this over, Springsteen may be one of the top 2-3 acts in the past 20 years that they've had.

Springsteen is incredible live, and boring everywhere else...

I won't go a full x3 but I did think he put on a helluva show when I saw him live.
