spaceage.
Jethro Tull? Heavy Metal? are you f'ing kidding me? Somewhere in California Lars Ulrich started to twitch uncontrollably.
I didn't say they were heavy metal (despite what the Grammys think), just that they were influential on the genre. Lars Ulrich is a tool anyway. Ok. Jethro Tull influential on the heavy metal genre, are you f'ing kidding me? That's like saying the Alan Parsons Project was a major influence on death metal anyone.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
The correct analogy brother stroh would be "the which came first thing". LOL For the thread, yes. I was goin' with........ 'Cuz he was stapled to the punkrocker's ear.

Ramones, Dolls, Iggy...which came first. show me? Yeah, punk had been around as 'Garage Bands' since the beginning (one of Clashes early songs is 'We're a Garage Band'), but the guys who took it to fame in the UK were The Ramones in 1976, and Iggy was the bridge between that and the largely underground 'Glam' club scene and TRex, Bowie, et al. The modern corollary is that The Beastie Boys actually started as kids who hung around hardcore shows in NYC in the early 80's, and saw that the fusion between hip hop and hardcore wasn't only possible, but almost necessary for a buying demographic that consists of a large percentage of young, suburban (white) males. Everything old is new again, or so they say. Elvis had done it 30 years before with black gospel and honky tonk music, The Byrds took NY Folk music to the West Coast and made the early LA sound that would culminate in The Eagles, the list goes on and on...

Not really, it, like music itself just morphed. Besides I stand by my original statement, without hearing or seeing the band you mentioned from youtube I'm betting they don't suck worse than the **** Pistols, 2 of the 3 Pistols could not even play their instruments when they first started, some would argue they never could.

Sid Vicious couldn't play bass, but he's not the bassist on the album, or at the early shows. That was Glen Matlock, who was fired after the release of God Save The Queen as a single.
Steve Jones and Paul Cook had been in a band called The Strand since 1972, which was the band McLaren was managing when he decided that his clothing line needed some poster children.
The statement that 'Punk Rockers Couldn't Play' is pretty much a fallacy, at least as far as big name bands go. Great technical musicians, certainly not, but not neophytes either.
Dave Alvin of The Blasters actually quit as X's guitarist because he didn't realize how complex Billy Zooms parts actually were, as one illustration of the point.

I didn't say that punk rockers couldn't play, I said that 2 of the 3 **** pistols couldn't play.
And therefore they suck worse than the sucky band that you posted from you tube and it sucks that I can't watch it just to prove which sucky band sucked the worst.

Who started 'Sucking'?
I saw X (as well as Rollins) last December, they looked and sounded GREAT, although Exene's looked better...
I'll assume you're referring to The Pistol's. They may have started sucking in 1977, when McLaren made the switch for purely visual reasons.

I didn't say that punk rockers couldn't play, I said that 2 of the 3 **** pistols couldn't play. Well, you might be mistaken. 3 of the 4 original members could play, although Lydon has never been a singer in any commonly understood sense of the term, but that never stopped Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, or Bob Dylan... And therefore they suck worse than the sucky band that you posted from you tube and it sucks that I can't watch it just to prove which sucky band sucked the worst.
Dude, they DEEPLY, DEEPLY suck.... The drummer looks to be a hobbit.
