That's great!

Sounds like a tough course, have you played there before?

How did the tourney go?
well since you ask...  Smiley

It was a pretty rad day.  So basically it was a FedEx customer appreciation tournament where fedex sales reps took their bigtime shippers out for a day of golf.  My boss was out of town so i got to take his place.

In a 4 man scramble format we placed 4th, just one place out of the winnings.  Low score was 67, we scored 69 which is pretty sad for a 4 man scramble but #1, the course was tough and #2, the 2 other members of my team, my manager and the fedex sales rep were hacks  Grin  the fourth member of my team was another fedex customer who turned out to be the club designer for HIREKO.  what are the odds.  since i play a 90% component bag, of which my 2-9i are dynacraft (hireko), we had a lot to talk about.  i also mentioned both fgi and gh to him, to which he said he hates internet golf forums cuz its a bunch of idiot whackos who think they know about clubmaking and we had a good laugh. Grin

One thing to note is that i won the longdrive competition and got a $50 callaway gift cert for my WHOPPING 285 yard drive.   Wink  would have rather had the mustang convertible or the golf trip to scotland for either of the holes in one.  but i'll settle for the $50 plus the goody bag.

...Free golf at a pretty damn nice resort, free beer, free food and drinks, free bar drinks and an impressive banquet spread...they really appreciate our business.  what has Brown done for us?  nothing.   Grin Grin

That sounds like a great time.

That's crazy that you played with a guy that designs clubs for Hireko.  Small world.  Was his bag full of clubs that he designed?   It's always interesting to hear what clubs that designers actually play.

Congrats on winning the long drive! Cheers

Rorys gonna blow a wad in his pants if he hears this.  He had KZG irons.  dont remember what model, but they were cavity back. he told me he likes kzg and wishon. driver and fw were tour edge , didn't catch what the hybrids were, red bionik moi putter.  wedges were hireko "professional open"

and as for the long drive... the SMT HP420/SK Fiber Revo Lite II still reigns.  2 time winner, and runner up at DS3.   Grin Thumbs Up

hahaha, the guy was playing kzgs!  That's funny. At least he wasn't playing the oem versions of some of the hireko designs.

damn, I remembered that you could crush it, but I never realized you were in the upper echelon of FGI distance.

that would have been f'ing hilarious if he was playing the OEM versions.  LOL

I'm not really that long off the tee.  I just wait for everyone to be DQ'd by missing the fairway.   Wink Grin
