The Good, The Bad, and the Truly Sad
« on: April 10, 2009, 11:52:04 AM »

Have the day off, so found time to get some golf forum hoing in  Cool

The Good - Opening Day tourney tomorrow, golf is back baby!  Cheesy   And with 4 channels of Masters coverage in HD I'm tuning into soon - its back in all its glory!

The Bad - I have played only one round in the last three months and I do not know what to expect tomorrow.  Poor weather has me practicing with the Momentus in the living room today  Sad

The Truly Sad - I have to follow the Opening Day tourney tomorrow by attending a funeral...... for the 23 year old son of a friend of mine.  Drug overdose  Cry  Sad  Cry

Having just come off of a near 2 year layoff myself i wouldn't worry too much. Good fundamentals tend to rise to the top. i shot a 42 in cool damp conditions right out of the box.  Smiley

Sad indeed. I used to live down in your neck of the woods in the mid 70's and still have relatives and friends on the Illinois side of the river. The way I hear the area is saturated with meth labs.

Was heroin actually - has been on the rise here I guess.  Terrible, terrible stuff.  I've heard we were the meth capital of the US before, but to be honest its been several years since I've heard much more about it.

The worst part was sitting with my buddy (the father) - he is devastated as you can image, and he is killing himself with guilt.  The kid was 2 weeks shy of 24 so there wasn't much he could do, but you cannot tell a parent that.

1)  After a 30 minute frost delay and a wet wet course - we had a darn good day for golf.  Felt great to be out there again  Cool

2)  I was just a little bit off all day, but nothing too terrible.  It was 4 man teams, progressive best ball.  Since it was handicapped there were no flights and they 'paid' out the top 7 teams.  We ended up in a tie for 7th and probably don't even break even, LOL.  But we did beat gammapi's team  Devil Cheesy

3)  Don't want to talk more about that (see above) - just depressing  Sad
