Am I the only one who thinks this:
« on: February 19, 2007, 08:33:35 PM »

Whenever I'm talking to someone wearing one of these:

I expect them to say, at some point:

'I am Locutus of Borg. Prepare to be assimilated. Resistance is futile'

I doubt you are the only one who thinks this, but most probably still live in mom's basement and have a job at Game Stop.

Two things:

1. If I was talking to her I wouldn't be looking at that thing in her ear.

2. I would probably let her assimilate me.

I just roll my eyes whenever I see someone wearing one of those.  Just what I'd want, a phone attached to my head.   Roll Eyes

When I'm talking to someone wearing one of those I'm usually expecting to be asked if I want "fries with that?"

I have one too. It's healthier and your ear doesn't boil. And my hair hides it, so people think I'm a lunatic that talks to herself. Awesome.

I don't get how it picks up your voice when the device is so far from your mouth.  And if it's super sensitive, why doesn't it pick up tons of background noise?

I think more along the lines of how much Star Trek has influenced our technology today, like this:

Injections without needles.
Transmitters look like todays cel phones.
I saw an episode where they had a huge flat screen TV.
Floppy disk looking thingamajigs.
