Cool, it looks like we've got enough people to make this fun. I just created a group over at cbs.sportsline, and we have some options on how we want the scoring to work. We can go with their default point scoring setup or try something more interesting. 1) The default option is 1 point for each correct pick for every round, but we could also add more weighting to each round and go with something like 1,2,3,4,5, etc., so making a correct pick at a later round is worth more. 2) The other option is related to seeds. You can set it so that your correct pick's seed comes into play by either adding or multiplying to get your point total for a round. So you would get rewarded for taking the risk and correctly picking an upset. I don't want to make this too complicated, but it might be fun to tweak the point values and keep it interesting for everyone. (I hate bracket contests where most people are out of contention after the first couple of rounds) Let me know if you have a preference on the point system.

I like option 2 but wouldn't mind having points increase with rounds.
I just hope this year my bracket isn't reduced to toilet paper after the first weekend.

No preference in point systems. My brackets are usually all shot to *feces* by the Sweet 16 anyway.

The seed option is kinda kewl, but I think just tweaking the weights would keep it a closer race. Something like the following should keep it relatively close yet also has a nice reward for the final brackets: 1,2,3,5,10,20.

The N see 2 a mens b ball tourney is the one tournament where "seed" points make sense. Did the Richmond Spiders make it in?

Cool, I'm leaning toward using E-A-G-L-E!'s point system for the rounds (1,2,3,5,10,20) with the "Add Seed" Bonus.

Deadline for entry?
What do I have to do/go? I've never actually done one of these deals.
It's pretty easy to participate, and some years it seems like a lack of ncaa hoops knowledge may actually help. 1) Go to http://golfhos.mayhem.sportsline.com/e2) login with your sportsline account or create one 3) the password for our golfhos group is "golfhos" (without the quotes) 4) Fill out your bracket with the teams you think will win. For now if you go there, you can join the group, but you won't be able to make your selections until all the teams are set this Sunday, March 11 The deadline for picks is 11 AM EST on Thursday. Here's some info about our group's rules. We're going with an E-A-G-L-E!® scoring system with a bonus of adding a team's seed for a correct pick. Deadline for submitting your brackets is 11 AM EST on Thursday prior to the start of Round 1 games.
Tiebreaker is the total score of the final game.
Scoring Round Weight Bonus Round 1 1 Add Seed Round 2 2 Add Seed Round 3 3 Add Seed Round 4 5 Add Seed Round 5 10 Add Seed Round 6 20 Add Seed Add Seed - Points equal the seed number of the winning team added to the weight for the given round.
I'll create an official thread for this over the weekend once I figure out the prizes. **EDIT** changed the url for our group to match the one in the invitation email
