Read it as well.  I haven't responded yet as I'm not really sure how to put into words what he needs to hear just yet.  Bottom line they teach us in the military to come straight out and ask if one is thinking of killing themselves.  Then take it from there to counselors/chaplain etc.  Not having the ability to intervene personnally on the net makes this a very hard to do.  Hopefully he will find the help he needs.

I don't know him at all, but based on posts he's made in the past, I think he's definitely what I would consider "at risk." In fact it was only a couple of months ago that he posted something to the effect of "goodbye cruel world" and disappeared from the forum for a couple of weeks. Hopefully he's got a support group, either friends or family, who will intervene appropriately. Unfortunately, given what I know about the culture surrounding him, far too often serious signs are overlooked and the only counseling ever offered is of the "put your faith in god and everything will be okay" variety.
