I can see clearly now
« on: September 11, 2007, 10:43:43 AM »

For what good it does me.

Eek

Man, you would have laughed your ass off.  I wore my new Rx sunglasses today and had one bogey, nothing better, and didn't get that until #9.  I haven't added it up but it pushed 60 - seriously.

My eyes and my brain were fighting it out.  I was making smooth swings but the ball would come off pretty much any part of the clubhead.  When I hit anywhere near the sweet spot the shots were good but there were tops, hosels, toes and even a whiff from the middle of the fairway.

I need some range work with the glasses on for sure to get it worked out.  I can see so much better with them on.  The brain just doesn't believe it.  I probably should have given them at least a couple of hours before walking on course.  Basically, the trip home from the optical shop was the extent of my getting used to them.

Hmmmm, this doesn't bode well for Bandon.  We can't have both of us playing like that.

Get to the range.

Oh, I will.  And if I can't figure it out I'll play without them.  I'm hopeful it's just a matter of a couple of buckets.

I'll tell you what though, I couldn't even get mad today.  It was simply comical.  I haven't scored that poorly in a few years.

Only ONE quad?

Lately I've been hoping for only one double per nine.

Index goes up 0.1 due to top-10 differential falling off the back end.

Sandbagger?  Not according to the USGA but I don't like it.  Never have.  I think there are valid circumstances where 'declaring' a practice round makes sense.  This be one.

If you'd shot a good score, would you have kept it on your record?

Well, would you, Funk?

LOL.

Of course, but vanity bagging doesn't have negative associations.  It's a tough thing to be sure.  If I'd shot a good score I think it would have been confirmation the glasses didn't affect me negatively.  Therefore, no reason to disqualify the score.

I've posted it.  It counts.  I don't dispute that.  I just don't like it.

I win

Always.  It's who you are.

First range session as a four-eyes under my belt today at lunch.  I think I'm fairly well sorted at this point.  One more session as insurance before Sunday round.

The hardest part about adjusting to glasses for me is getting used to the way it *fudge*s with your depth perception. I spend the first 4-5 days with a new prescription tripping over *feces* that's not there.
