question for stroh
« on: January 11, 2008, 05:40:19 AM »

Why the *fudge* do the waiting rooms at these imaging places have to be so damn cold?

Had to take the wife because she had to take a happy pill and this place is friggin freezing. Bet your little room is nice and comfy. *fudge*ers.

LOL.  To answer the broader question;  I have no idea.  When it comes to the larger imaging equipment, CT, MR, Nuc. Med., etc., The rooms are kept with very specialized HVAC equipment.  Temp. and humidity are very important, or those things will shut right down.  Happens all the time.  Chiller goes out, magnet heats up, you're dead in the water.

Almost have to cater to the machine and not the patient.  The actual waiting room though......Cheap *fudge*ers, I guess.  I will agree, however.

To localize it a bit:  Our scan room is very cold.  Our control room is also very cold.  Supposedly on the same system, but independently controlled for technologist comfort.  BS  We're constantly in a fight with the building people to turn the *goshdarn* heat up.  We crank it up to 80 or so, they get all pissed and say you can't do that!  LOL  *fudge* 'em.

One day the clinic manager got a call at home from the automated system......the temp. in our control area was 87.

 Cool   Grin

How did it go?  Did she do all right?  Did you tell them you have a friend in the biz?

Ah, cool.  I'm headed out to work.  I'll check in later to see how it went.  Smiley

I welcome the cold.  The only way I can fit into those cramped machines is with the aid of "shrinkage".

My guess is then you're fine with the endo-rectal prostate probe.

So she had 2 done, without and with contrast. I want that drug she was on when we have kids birthday parties.

So stroh, how can you look at these images day in and day out and not look at people like they were walking corpses? I looked at the film and think of the melting face guy from Raiders of the Lost Ark. I looked at one I had of my sinuses and when I saw the eye balls I had to just put it away.

That's my preferred way to think of people.

LOL.  Yeah, you just kind of get used to it.  In more appreciative way than than the proctologist, but in a far less appreciative way of say the gynecologist.
