More then once. Never started in safe mode but was doing this with the beta version as well as the rc version.

Safe mode can't hurt then. Smiley

How long has it been available as a beta?

Not exactly sure, I've used Firefox 3 in Beta and RC form for several months though.

I can't live without that plug-in.  For real.  I'm uninstalling before I go back to work on Thursday (business trip Mon-Wed.)

Code a better one yourself instead. Wink Grin

Why would I do that?  Theirs is close to perfect.

Because you need it *now* and coding is fun. Grin Could always just force it to be compatible and see if it works, 85% of them do. Smiley

Coding is fun.  I enjoy it.  But 8-12 hours per day is enough.  I have no interest in spending 1000+ hours on a Firefox plug-in which would certainly not be anywhere near as good as theirs.

What if the Mozilla coders had said that their browser would never be as good as IE when they started working on Firefox (Firebird at the time) so they didn't try? Wink Grin

You said "code a better one yourself then".  That's different than a monster open source project.  YMMV.   Wink

Would it be a great gig if one had the means to support himself independently?  Sure.  Unfortunately, my coding really needs to have a direct correlation to a paycheck.  I've done the entrepreneur thing and it's highly overrated.   Shocked

Some day, in retirement, perhaps I'll originate a killer app and be an icon of the open source movement.  Nah, I'll be golfing.

Coding an OpenSource App >>> golfing. I can say that here, no one golfs here anyway. Wink Grin

If Google didn't pay to have that little search button in the toolbar, I'm guessing the Mozilla coders would be working on something else right now.

Looks like it is compatible. I just looked and it allows me to add it. Though I did not because I do not code. At least not anymore.

Yeah, the versions on Mozilla's ad-ons page are never up to date really, as the new versions have to be cleared first before they allow them on there, and they can take some time, sometimes.

Google "little search button in the toolbar" FTW. Grin

Hmmmmm... thanks Spankers.  I trusted the FF3 installer which told me it wasn't compatible and there was no upgrade.

A lesson learned.

BTW, love the Aqua-esque buttons in the Firelight theme.  'Bout time.

Nope, the Firefox installer and the ad-on manager go by the Mozilla ad-ons site.
