Personally I like a good cufflink, nothing flamboyant (of course not flamboyant in the other sense of the word)

Incidentally, I do not wear cuff links.  They do add to a more formal look, and perhaps more style and class as a result - but I've just never hassled with em.

Its a corporate culture thang at my place of employment (and part of the dress code - not suits so much, but dress shirts and ties).  And frankly, I do not disagree with it given the crap some people wear on a 'business casual' day.  Seems the 'business' portion of the term is completely lost on people  Roll Eyes

The one thing that does bother me - the double standard, or lack of a standard, for women under the dress code.  Women are allowed tremendous latitude in interpreting business attire, which allows them to be business casual everyday.  Men - better have that dress shirt and tie on or someone will report you  Sad

I only wear a jacket a few times a month, but do wear slacks/ties every day. Cufflinks would be far too formal for my job and/or place of employment. Ditto on the women having far more latitude in dress than men. At what point did capri pants a sleeveless shirt and flip flops amount to appropriate business dress? Even business casual?

I used to work for McGraw-Hill, where a tie was required.  ANY tie.  We were young, the jobs were poor, we wore the craziest ties we could find.  Do your job well and it's amazing what you can get away with.

I'd wear cufflinks, because I like 'em and I think they'd probably be not too far off the mark for a business-attire office.  But taht's suit or coat-n-tie business-attire, not dress shirt-n-tie (hobbit attire).

No suits at my work but some of my work shirts have french cuffs so I wear cuff links with them.  Sometimes I wear cuff links with my suit for weddings and what not.

My company on average dresses terrible.  The fat cow women that wear essentially spandex pants and large shirts with sandals as business casual.  While the guys wear trousers, dress shirts and wingtips.

I agree there's nothing worse than fat chicks in spandex and fat people shirts.... in any situation

I work for a living so it's jeans and a polo or t-shirt (at least I use to work for a living, now that I'm in lower management I don't have to work so hard but I still get the perks of wearing what's comfortable. I could wear shorts if I want but don't mostly for protection due to certain job hazards.)
