This has been the rumor for at least the last year if not two. I'll say this. As much as I'm smitten with Apple stuff lately a touch tablet doesn't really do much for me. And after waiting two years for a non announcement of one coming out that everyone knows just has to.........it better blow my *feces* off. |

There's a strong chance I'll end up camping out for one in March or whenever it ends up launching. Mainly because I want to make sure my apps work on it properly (existing iphone ones and any new tablet-specific ones).

I can see your interest in it for that reason. I have only 2 apps on my phone right now. I haven't found anything I really need my phone to do more than it does right now. I realize the irony/waste but I like it and it works for me. So, If this thing is nothing more than an oversized ipod touch  It really does nothing for me. If it is more of a computer, but at the same time less of one because it runs on /relies on apps. I still don't see it's value for me. But I'm pretty dense. So who knows. |

You know I'm not hating or being a Danny Downer.
For me the Mac Book Air was brilliant. We love ours. In fact Karen has taken complete ownership of it. When I first saw it, I said I gots to get me one of dem. Love it.
Will be interesting to see what comes out.
I'm also old enough to remember when the Newton.

I use a regular MacBook mainly, but I'm kind of indifferent toward OSs. At various times in the past I've been a Linux, Windows, or Mac guy, so now I don't really care.
The price of the tablet will be interesting. I've been hearing between $599-799 depending on configuration.

Anyone know how big this thing is going to be? AFAIC, if a device is too big to fit in my pocket, it's going to be a PITA to carry around regardless of its form factor. I'd just as soon get something more versatile like this. Or this. |
