Vision Arctic Golf Balls
« on: January 04, 2007, 02:20:02 PM »

This looks like an old press release, but I've never heard of this ball before.  I kind of like the idea of having a couple of these in the bag for those twilight rounds where you're trying to squeeze in a couple more holes, but you know if you miss the fairway you're going to lose a ball.

I'm assuming it's a fairly conventional ball and not like one of those glow balls for night golf.

The revolutionary Vision Yellow balls absorb UV light once they are exposed to daylight, quickly losing their green appearance to become a brighter yellow that enables many golfers to enjoy twilight golf in the cooler part of the day.
...
Due to variations in some players colour perception and differing grass types, we have now introduced the Vision Arctic White ball. This allows us to fit a Vision+ ball to any player within our handicap demographic.

Hi Guys,   I hope this is ok to answer with just some details.

The UV ball is the brightest one we make and is a three piece soft/long ionomer
covered ball, the Arctic is a really bright white covered ball in the same structure.

The UV's do absorb the light to make them brighter when in play, which means yes
they glow a bit but they are not designed to be a night ball.

They are aimed at the HXHot/NXT/Trispeed/Burner balls

Cheers, The Boz.

Thanks, Boz.  Good information.  Cheesy

Welcome to GolfHos.  I think you'll like it here.

I'd be happy to PM my address if you would like to send a couple of dozen for me to play my next time out.  There is another thread out there, that suggests, with some very convincing statistics that the proV1x is the right ball for me.  I tested positive on several of the key demographic questions, including one involving Senator Craig, but I'm not sure if I really want to get into that type of high end ball.  Despite the empirical data.   Grin

Just what I need balls that glow a bit.

Ps. I'm in Seattle, I don't trust anyone named The Boz.  Tongue

Hi Strob,

I am working with SMT Golf on the US market, I worked with Titleist for 24 years and it is amazing
how many people are fitted into either the ProV1 or X to maximise their potential.  Roll Eyes Expensive fit
I think. I will be doing some US testing again in late Feb.

Hi Seamus,

We can't all be bad, and you know my bright balls do make me stand out in a crowd.  Grin

process but hey were not rocket scientists just ball guys. hahahah

He who's name can never be spoken in this town.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Bosworth

"Bosworth was drafted by the Seahawks in the 1987 supplemental draft, and signed what was both the biggest contract in team history and the biggest rookie contract in NFL history: 10 years for US$11 million."

"However, he also suffered one of his worst moments that same year in a Monday Night Football game when Bo Jackson of the Raiders ran into him and dragged him along to score a touchdown. A shoulder injury forced him to retire after only three seasons."

Watching Bo Jackson run over him is a sight every Seattleite football lover treasures.
