At what age did you start drinking? I don't mean the sip of dad's beer. I mean when you first started drinking, as in regularly (access to the drink being the obstacle).

Re read the OP. My take of the intent of the query, my answer is more in line with 17.
Late 15, 16...I had a friend with older brothers, and we were in a small town. My GF at the time also had access through her dad for beer.
As far as regularly....?
I joined the army at 17. I would say, since then. Whole different world.

Funny thing is your legal drinking age is 21.... here its 18.... When I started it was 19 in my state (Minnesota) and 18 across the border in Wisconsin. When I started college in WI I was legal there but not when I visited home. Then Wisconsin changed to 19 to match their border states and then the federal government basically forced all states to go to 21. Something about not getting federal highway funds IIRC. |

Funny thing is your legal drinking age is 21.... here its 18.... On the outside yes. In the military we could drink on base. When I left boot camp I was a well oiled alcoholic machine at 19. Prolly started at 15 or 16 with mom's hidden Vodka, and then slowly moved on to bigger and better things in every way imaginable. The only thing that keeps me going sometimes is knowing that I'm raising two daughters very differently than I was raised. It's a differn't world peeps. |

When I was 13, a friend found a bottle of vodka, so me and 2 other friends got wasted off screwdrivers and threw up.
But I started drinking regularly at 19.
