The Deed is Done (New and Improved- Now with Pics!)
« on: May 24, 2007, 10:14:26 PM »

The spaceages are now the proud owners of a 2005 MINI Cooper S (supercharged). 28,900 miles, Laser Blue (matching dash/interior accents), w/ black roof. (No bonnet stripes, but probably will eventually get some installed. Apparently I know a guy.) Charcoal leather upholstery, heated seats, 6 speed manual transmission, power "panoramic" sunroof, multi function leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, etc. Mostly loaded. It's missing the premium sound system, a couple of the sillier options (rear fog lams, WTF?), and doesn't have the 17" wheels, but that's really just fine with me. 34/29 mpg. (Takes 91 octane fuel and synthetic oil though, which sucks.)

It's Laura's car, but apparently I'll get to drive it sometimes. (Though after tonight's episode of disabling the DSC and seriously putting the supercharger to the test, I don't honestly know how often.) It's really a fun little car.

I'll try to get pics up asap.

I looked at one of those when I bought my RSX.  I didn't think my clubs would fit in the back.

Dude, it's in the OP, seriously.

ebay?

Nope, stumbled upon it at a dealer right down the street from us. With the exception of the lacking bonnet stripes it was exactly what she wanted. I talked them down to almost $1000 below low book (numbers I looked up from both NADA and Kelly, not the numbers they showed me which were nearly $2000 high), not counting the value on our trade in, so we decided to go for it. Still has a big chunk of the mfr. warranty left on it too, which is nice.

Not for a while, I'm afraid.  Sad

I haven't tried to put the clubs in it yet, but I'm sure the back seats will need to be folded down to accommodate. No biggie since I almost never have rear seat passengers, and I drive my Pathfinder most of the time anyway, which fits clubs just fine.

Actually this reminds me of a thread I read not too long ago on fgi about the smartcar.  Some genius commented that the car was a freakin death trap....... with his motorcycle as an avatar  Roll Eyes

Its like walking into Wal-Mart when I read things like that - my self esteem goes WAY up  Cheesy

Congrats!  Really nice car!

I've never heard it put that way.

I'm not having a good day.
You could try having a beer after work.  Some guys say that helps.

Phew.  I had to check, though.
