Workin' on a writing paper...need a little help.

Topic: The Decay of the Modern Athlete. Thesis: Money changes everything, for the love of money is the root of all evil.
List some athletes over the years who have had trouble with the law, examples, Denny McClain, Strawberry, Art Schlicter, Rae Carruth, Tyson, and now Vick.
Also, I've been searching for an hour now on a listing of salaries through the years, by year, especially just pre Curt Flood and then the following years, I'll keep looking but if you can think of anything off the top of your heads.

Could have gone that way I 'spose, but we had to choose a topic that we were "passionate" about, that rings more true with sports for me rather than politics. But if I just change Michael Vick to George Bush...hmmmmm...interesting. But you did offer a great conclusion line!  |

Yeah, just started really. This is our first big writing assignment, the funny thing is I had a paper done Technology Run Amok: Is This the Eventual Death of Courtesy? about annoying cell phone persons, woke up this morning at 5:30 with a better idea (maybe?). Thanks Steg. That gets from 1988 to current. I sure would love to find salaries from right around the Curt Flood/free agency time, it's ok though, I can still make a point without it. |

600 words. You could write thousands of words on this. I wonder if you could focus on the steroid scandal in baseball. Bonds, McGwire, Giambi.
Why the steroids? $$$. And that there have always been negative items in baseball. The Black Sox scandal in the 1918(?) World Series. The advent of free agency in the 1970's. I don't know. If you examine all sports, you could be writing for days.
