Most Overplayed Song
« on: August 20, 2007, 01:04:07 PM »

Wow, I heard Plain White T's "Hey There, Delilah" three times on my way to work this morning on different stations.

It brought back flashbacks of hearing Chumbawamba - Tubthumping nonstop on the radio.

I'm not sure if anyone here even listens to commercial radio, but I had to rant.

They played the etchings off the disc of Hinder's Lips of an angel here.

Maroon 5 is getting a lot of air time.

I normally just duck in and out during commercials on the sports talk radio.

Soon to be your local trash man.

I don't play golf anymore.   Well, maybe I do sort of.  I quit keeping score, started drinkning beer and I started playing better.

Yeah, I usually listen to sports talk radio, but it's pretty dull right now waiting for nfl and ncaa football to start.

Since the song you bring up in the OP is the one that came immediately to mind when I read the title of the thread, I have nothing new to contribute to the discussion.

+1
I would also like to add that I am also getting tired off hearing The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus's "Face Down" on my daily commute to work, the only time I listen to FM radio.

I usually have a cd in the car (The Best of the Beach Boys at the moment).  If I have the radio on, I tend to flick around to different stations, till I hear a song that I like.  I am a big flicker Grin, when it comes to the radio, so I don't usally have that problem of having to listen to a song that annoys me! I'm a big flicker, too, but this morning I switched from "Hey There, Delilah", and it was playing on a different station! (at an earlier point in the song!  Lips Sealed)

I'd like to give an honorable mention to the song that was playing when I pulled into the parking lot at work this morning, and then just now when I jumped in my car to run a quick errand: The Bird and The Worm by The Used. (Local band makes it big, god knows why.)

I have a picture in my mind of what a "flicker" is Down Under.  Don't ruin it for me.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you. Cry
