computer virus.
« on: February 06, 2008, 08:46:46 PM »

I have just received an email regarding not to open any emails re. Life is Beautiful. One email was opened this morning called I believe, and I don't know who the email is from. (I didn't open the email).

I now have a little thing on the bottom of my computer called Camera All Memory Card detector, and it has a little picture of a bug(I think) in front of it.  I have tried clicking on it and nothing happens.
Does anybody know what this is.

Help.

Assuming your talking about the forward (example here) that has been going around since 2002 ... it was and still is fake. Smiley

Sounds like a digital camera/memory card reader to me, but don't know for sure.

Jules,

The camera all memory card detector sounds like it might be some type of spyware.  Do you have a program to check for spyware?  If not, download  one of the freeware aps that check and remove.

You can download Ad-Aware and/or Spybot Search & Destroy if you don't.

You might also try CCleaner.  I use AVG the above two and CCleaner.  The only disturbances to the operation of the machine are the programs the missus downloads without consultation.

I just removed this item from my taskbar.  If you go to your quick launch icons to the right and see if you have ulead auto detector as an item.  If you do then right-click it and then place your cursor over close ulead auto detector.  It will remove the Camera All Memory Card Detector bar next to the start button.  You do have a ulead program or it would'nt be on your computer.  I know you posted this back in Feb., so you may already have the answer.

Thanks dingleberry, the camera all memory card detector does not come up any more.  I tried what you said and the computer said disable or close ulead auto detector.  I didn't know what that meant so I left it alone.

It's actually something that ASIO place on  your computer to spy on your interwebbing.  Usually starts when someone reports you to the internets for doing illegal activities.
