When Do You Work Out?

I need to develop a "regular" routine. I'm not close enough to the "Y" or any other club, to make it worth joining. so, right now, I will limit it to the treadmill at home.
Problem is my time schedule. The best solution is in the early AM, but I can't stand getting up early, and have all of my life. I tell ya, 4 years in the ARMY was a biT#h!.
Hard when I get home, 'cause I've been gone all day, I've been at work, I just want to sit, and spend time with the family.
Wife and kid got to bed reasonably early, but late at night is no good, I'm already well into the elixer of life.
I dunno. We'll see. Winter may be a better motivator for morning.
How, when, where, if..........you guys.

I cannot/ will not workout in the mornings. Mornings are tough enough for me without throwing something as unpleasant as working out into the mix. Typically I try to workout right when I get home, before dinner.
We have a few gyms in the area, but I am not really a gym guy. My preferred method of working out is resistance/strength/weight training (hate treadmills, stationary bikes, etc). I have an unfinished room in the basement with a bench, free weights, universal machine, etc. A typical workout takes 40-50 minutes and I don't have to add time spent driving to/from the gym.
I like to watch sports whenever possible when I workout, but will occasionally go for regular TV programming. I have to be careful though. Once I had the Simpsons on and almost dropped a barbell on my neck because I giggled mid bench press. I also quite like to workout to Fear Factory. Laura hates it when I do though because it makes the whole house shake.

I usually get on our elliptical machine for 1/2 hour min. in the morning. If not, I hit our hospital rehab gym during the day.

Yep. Treadmill, and "situp/clothes hanger thingy" are set up. Car hole. LOL  I plan on buying a Total Gym. I've been on one. I'm impressed. |
