Bored and buzzed.  Hopefully this makes sense in the morning.

Rate your expected/desired improvement (or unprovement? I guess) of your 2008 golf game in terms of percentage.  Take your pick as to the standard you use.  Handicap, personal best, fairways hit, putts made, whatever.  I'm going with index as it's as good a quantifiable gauge as anything.

I'm shooting for a 25% improvement minimum.  Takes my ~16 index and drops it to a 12.  I think 40% borders on over the top optimistic (down to roughly a 10) but why not aim for lofty goals.  I'd be monumentally delighted if I can pull it off.

Torp, mark your calendar.  I want to see this thread again in November.   Wink

I'd be surprised if I get in more than 6-8 full rounds this summer, so I'm not expecting any improvement. I'll be happy if I don't end the season in worse shape than I ended the last one.

Penalty strokes.  Looking for about a 61% decrease.

Disallowable.  No kids, the dog's potty trained, the wife works nurse's hours, DINKy sized wallet, so forth.  No excuses.

Back yard in shambles that I promised to have in decent shape by the end of summer, basement that I've been promising to re-finish since we've lived here, two bathrooms that need to be updated/remodeled, motorcycle begging to be ridden... plenty of excuses.  Sad

Excuses are like opinions: everyone's an *bunghole*.

Or something like that.

I really don't have an expectation for improvement. I finished last year with an index of 6.7. A couple of factors leading to a belief my index will rise 1-2 strokes:

1. Job situation. No job = much less golf. New job = much less PTO (vacation).

2. Working on another goal this year.  Lips Sealed

Also factor in ~50 rounds (plus practice) a year the past three years in MN to reach my goal of single digits and I have a bit of a "what now?" question in the back of my mind.

I found that if you have a goal, that you might not reach it. But if you don't have one, then you are never disappointed. And I gotta tell ya... it feels phenomenal. - Peter LaFleur

I ended last year with a 9.3 index.  I think I can knock it down by 30% this year.  And I'd like to beat my 73 and shoot in the 60's for a full 18 or at least under par.

From my range sessions pre-injury to my back the Stack & Tilt had drastically improved my ballstriking especially with irons and wedges.  If I can figure out the driver swing with it and make some putts I will be much better this year.  The S&T also surprisingly helps my pitching and chipping.  So I want to be much more consistent and score in the 70's a lot more often.
