We've had crazy weather here in the past week.

A few days ago it hit freezing overnight, but yesterday I played golf in shorts and got sunburned.  But this morning, there was frost on the lawn again. Angry

-4 is nothin'.  We go for days at a time around -15 to -20.  The wind is the tough part.

lol - it's just something you need to be used to.  Growing up in Minnesnowta has made that easy for me.  I've been out sledding in the -20's (+).  Having the right gear/outfit helps a bit, too.

Very true.  When the wind cold, it's very easy for you to be cold.

That sounds very pleasant.

Out of curiosity, how often do you get snow during your winter season?

Interesting question. In Melbourne itself we'd be lucky to get "snow" maybe once every 75 years.  About an hours drive out of Melbourne when you're at about 700 metres above sea level.... maybe two or three days during winter.  Four hours out of Melbourne you get to the "Alpine" region, where it all happens. All the ski resorts are probably about 1200 metres above sea level, and get some decent snow, but alot of it is manmade stuff.  The 'ski season' probably runs for about 3 months, 4 if it's been a cold winter. Towards the end though most of it is just slush... LOL

Wow, that's so interesting.  That's like a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence! I really have a hard time imagining much of a winter without snow.  Well, we haven't been getting much of it the last few years, but we always get some.  Got our first dusting today.
