Job Description:
To support Global Sourcing and product development efforts by providing patentability and IP clearance advice on products, non-infringement and/or patent validty advice, and assisting with protecting created IP. Job will also involve training and providing advice to client groups on a wide range of other IP and IP ownership issues, as well as managing outside patent counsel as necessary.

# Providing patent advice relating to specific products and product ideas
# Act as primary negotiator for high-impact, critical contractual negotaitions.
# Work closely with Global Sourcing and Product Development to provide day to day advise/counsel in developing and implementing paten strategies and Process Development

# Typically reports to a Senior Corporate Counsel or Vice President - Legal.
# Areas of specialization are Business Law, Real Estate Law, Employee Relations Law, Litigation, General Liability, and Merger and Aquisitions.

# Located in a comfortable indoor area.
# Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.
# Some travel required

# Must be eighteen years of age or older
# Must pass the Drug Test
# Must pass the Background Check
# Must pass pre-employment tests if ap

EDUCATION REQUIRED - The completion of a Jurist Doctorate or equivalent and required certifications for practicing law.


# Admitted to the Bar of a state in the United States of America

# Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
# On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

# USPTO Registration required

# Technology background and/or experience should include mechanical, business methods, and software.
# Experience with patent clearance and non-infringement opinions.
# Experience with patent preparation and prosecution.
# Prefer experience with client counseling on related IP issues.

# Ability to simulataneously manage multiple items and successfully meet deadlines set by manager or business partners.
# Strong analytical skills, and ability to communicate clearly
# Ability to work effectively in fast paced environments
# Some travel on short business trips may be required.

I spend what certainly was a long time in a Home Depot checkot line last nite manned by a clerk who sort of set the bar for the slow as molassus 'southern thing' and may have to tell you that I hope this sort of stupid isnt contageous, but it very well might be.


You could do a lot worse than to live in ATL

I have two friends who moved to ATL to work for said company, both in HR and fairly high up the food chain. One left after 3 years, the other is sprinting for the retirement line. To paraphrase their impressions of the resident corporate mentality, no amount of worldliness gained from The Company's broad expansion has diminished their stereotypical, Southern, good ol' boy, redneck, in-bred ignorance.
