ESPN Classic has been showing AWA wrestling from the late 80's at 10:00PM Pacific, and I have to say the last week has been outstanding.
I RockandRoll Express, Midnight Rockers, Michael PS Hayes (of the Fabulous Freebirds) Wahoo McDaniel, Col. DeBeers, a very young Curt Hennig, Sheri Martel, Medusa Mecelli, the list goes on and on.
It was the swan song independent promotion, the last stand of Kayfabe.

I'll click over to see what's up. Usually it's some jobber putting over the talent, but the last week has had a couple of really good Manny Fernandez (who I saw 'Don The Crimson Mask live back in the old WCW days) Wahoo matchups, and a classic Ronny Garvin foreign object bit.
Good stuff!
Oops, almost forgot: Always good to see 'Easy Ed Wisoski', aka Col. Debeers in action. Dutch Savages last championship tag team partner, IIRC.

Bockwinkel, Zybysko, Ray "the Crippler" Stevens, Mad Dog Vachon, Baron Von Raschke, Jerry Blackwell, Sheik Adnan El Kassey, Buck Zumhofe.......Jesse "the Body" Ventura....and a young Hulk Hogan and .............. plus who could forget Mean Gene Okerlund at the mic. Classic classic stuff. |

What was up with Adonis' feminine schtick? I remember when he was just a tub of lard, tag teaming with future Minnesota gubner Ventura. Then he became a lipstick-wearing, flower-toting, tub of lard, and it really freaked me out.
