New Feature => Hide Political Threads

I'm working on a new feature so that people can hide political threads on this site if they're not interested in seeing them.
I'm guessing politics is going to continue to be a hot topic all fall, so please add the [Politics/Religion] warning if you create a political thread.
To enable this feature on your account, do the following:
1. Go to Profile =>Look and Layout Preferences
2. Check "Hide political threads"
3. Click the "Change Profile" button

They're hidden in the forum thread view; visible in the home page if a P&R thread is the most active; and can't say yet for "Show unread posts since last visit".

By default, P&R isn't hidden, but people now have the choice if they want to hide political threads. It wasn't just your post, there are others who don't want to see the political stuff. |

The "Show unread posts" should work, let me know if it doesn't. The home page is tricker. Unfortunately the forum software truncates the thread title for the "last post" snippet, so it makes it harder to detect the politics tag. It works better if you have the warning at the beginning of the thread title like: [Politics/Religion] Blah blah instead of Blah Blah [Politics/Religion] |

Don't look at me. When I moderated the Help and Suggestion and Protocol section, I ran the tightest subforum on the entire intergoogles. People may not have liked my suggestions, but I made damn sure they got them in a prompt and legible manner.
But I was fired for reasons that have escaped my memory today.
