after quite a fun last 5-6 hours in the ER, we found out that next week she'll likely be scheduling some sort of removal of a 3cm one of these   |

Well, that's not a pleasant way to start off the new year. Best of luck, Sal. It's unfortunate that this isn't the kind of stone that you can just piss out. (Well, come to think of it, maybe you're fortunate you won't have to try to piss it out.) BTW, did the ER doctor give you a diagnosis? In addition, increased levels of the hormone estrogen as a result of pregnancy, hormone therapy, or the use of combined (estrogen-containing) forms of hormonal contraception, may increase cholesterol levels in bile and also decrease gallbladder movement, resulting in gallstone formation. |

Blood tests were negative for pregnancy, so that's rather ruled out  |
