[SPOILERS] MLB: Holy *feces*!

Grand Slam?

Must be.  4 RBI with 1 run scored in 2 AB.

I've never hit a Grand Slam.


So I hang up my glove and spikes after a long and illustrious softball career, well not long, it was cut short by an incredible diving catch that resulted in a broken thumb.  I still went 6 for 8 that night.  Then retired.

Called back to duty to play in a tourney.  Good friend of my wife's. So you know how it goes;  "Yeah we got this guy, he's willing to play.  He's played before.  He'll be ok"  I had nothing better to do. WTF.   They put me in right field (what are you gonna do?)  Can't really blame them.  They didn't know me from Adam, and I was just a body.

I'm just there for the sport, and the beer anyway I had already retired.

First play of the game,  a bloop over the second baseman's head that he read wrong and I charged in on and one hopped it ready to gun it to first.  Wouldn't have gotten the runner, but  close.  I held up.   The Second baseman said "Oh, just give it to me." 

Ok   Several pitches and plays later, I came screaming in with a shoestring catch and glove flipped it to the second baseman.  He said "You can play."  I said yeah, but not here.

Short story long, they moved me to first (which is my spot) and the next play I make this super-stretch-dirt-grab-scoop out.

Then my first trip to the plate I crush this pancake yard. Oh, it was sweet.

I played the rest of the game at first and hit two more dingers.


Here's the deal!!!!!!:  We went on to finish out of the money in that tourney, even though I hit hit 7 more out(I wasn't the only one, they had home run hitters on that team).  Came close in one game.  But then out of the bracket.

They all say "Join this team!!  "  After talking with Karen and deciding to come out of retirement, I started the season with them and so did the guy that couldn't play that "one tourney" that I took his place for.  This guy couldn't hit the ball out of his own shadow, or field a ball at his feet feet but they wouldn't "let him go" for me. 

So I said thanks for the game.  Walked, and haven't played since.
