I barely understand this explanation, but I think something else might be going on. I've been able to access a functional FGI intermittently all day.
Copulation induced hallucinations...
Or syphilis....
Which when you think about it are the same thing.
Sorry.
I just don't understand how your previous explanation explains why I can load up a perfectly normal FGI website, and then minutes later, it fails to load and goes to that no longer exists page, and then minutes later, it loads perfectly normally, and then minutes later, it fails to load, etc, etc.
ps, to the best of my knowledge, hallucinations are not among the spectrum of symptoms associated with neurosyphilis
Gawd, you're being serious. How am I supposed to cop on to that?
I don't know how your connection is configured but here's one way it could work, not work and then work again. If you are using more than one nameserver it could be that one/some are using cached, valid values for freegolfinfo.com and the other(s) resolve using the expireddomainservices.com values. Depending on how your machine is resolving DNS and which nameserver it is hitting you'd get different results.
The internet is rife with misconfigured DNS which is passed along to your ISP's nameservers and your personal machine. Plug in your ISP's domain name
here and see if you get any red test results. For that matter, when freegolfinfo.com comes back up do a test on it. Last time I checked it had a half-dozen failures. I passed the info along but... well, you know how that sort of exercise typically turns out.
I've even seen bad data at the root servers. That's a bugger to figure out and even more trouble to get fixed. I'm certain that's not the problem today but it does happen.
On top of that I know jack squat about Windows DNS implementation other than I'll guess it doesn't use BIND/named like every other modern operating system. There could be various local machine circumstances that are getting you, EAGLE and Torpedo access.
Trust me though, whatever is doing it for you involves caching. At the time of my posts freegolfinfo.com was expired and, in a world without DNS caches, completely unresolvable. Unless you are using the nameservers at Justin's ISP directly the root servers would point you to the dead end. Guaranteed.
