This Really Bugs Me.
« on: January 25, 2007, 06:52:55 AM »

There is now way all of those people on the Enterprise-D can get to use the holodeck.  It makes me crazy, thinking about it.  There is only one holodeck, and it's necessary for many applications, not the least of which is recreation.  Training, education, scenario recreation (especially in crime solving), not mention some degree of routine maintenance, keep the machine occupied.

As you are no doubt aware, the Enterprise-D is a Galaxy Class starship, and as such, carries a standard crew complement of not less than 760 crew members.  Well, it's actually 759, after the inevitable demise of yeoman Joe Dumbass, in the first 5 minutes to develop a plot line;  but that's really inconsequential.  Unless of course he was in your foursome, but that's seemingly impossible, as you'll see later.

I'm not the only person who is alarmed by this proposition.  Check out what this dude wrote, after I selectively edited his words to provide me a more persuasive argument.

"(dudes).....are frequently depicted walking into a completely unoccupied holodeck(which is bull*feces*), despite living on a ship with many hundreds of other people, who would presumably (most certainly) be clamoring for such interactive entertainment Hump on long range, deep-space missions(hell, even a trip to the store). The more likely situation would be one of advance booking for privileges and waiting lists weeks or months long;"

Even with rough math(which is about all I'm capable of)  You couldn't even get 1 hour per month.  WTF??!!

With Picard hoggin' the damn machine, off on some tea sippin', equine love fest, and Worf spending the whole damn day tryin to teach his lame ass (blatently homo****ual) kid to use thinly veiled Judo moves, in an effort to force his will of becoming a warrior;  Ain't now way to hop in for a quick shag with counselor Troi.  Although it seems Lt. Barkley has the market cornered on that program with his little tete a` six..

So, when is a brother to get in a little golf?

maybe , inside the holodeck, they have a master program that allows the holodeck to load a program containing many holodeck rooms.
hence, the ability for multiple training sessions, etc.

Yeah, but there is only one door in.

You don't walk in there, trying to get into an empty room, and walk past Guinan, gettin' her groove on. Lips Sealed

There were four primary holodecks and a number of personal ones.

That guy needs to RTFM.

Get a brain Morans!

Spouting off on the internets is best done with a little background knowledge.

Riker always went to Holodeck 4 for his shagging sessions, it just takes a bit of observation.

Next some twat will say that Data wasn't a real boy.

Where will it all end?

It has to be stamped out now.

I don't recognize that as Canon.  Besides, shut up and go away, you're serving too much of a purpose here.

Have you noticed nobody ever took a dump on that show too?

How many times did we hear Picard say 'Not now Jordie, I'm wiping my arse and getting rid of some klingons' or 'Sorry Guinan, I'd love to stay and hear more of your *feces* but I'm busting for a piss'?

I'm telling you, not once.
