Went to my parents' for dinner tonight. Apparently in the middle of the night some dirtbag decided to liberate the $800 BBQ grill from their backyard. Seriously, what's that all about?

How would anybody even know that the grill was there in the first place? Also, don't they lock the side gate?

We're guessing someone already cased the place. They don't lock the side gate because most of us who are familiar with the house enter/exit from the back door (weird, but it's just the way we've always done it). Oddly enough, dad usually has the grill chained up, but he had it moved because he was painting the fence behind it and figured no one was going to waltz in and take off with the grill overnight. Weird scenario altogether.

The east side is not what it used to be.  Head out to Kearns/WVC and turn the cops on the first person you see with a $800 grill. No way he didn't steal it. I don't think our whole backyard was worth that much.  |

Tons of a-holes out there. I try to maintain my faith in humankind, but it's tough at times.
Last night about 10:30 pm my wife comes downstairs and says she thinks she hears voices outside. I go out to check things out. I'm one step out the door and four guys, I'm guessing teens 17-18 years old, bolt from the bushes by our side porch and scatter in every direction. Didn't get a real good look at them. God only knows what the hell they were up to. My guess - an elderly lady across the street from us has been having trouble with vandals and pranksters harrassing her. I'm thinking these may have been the guys and they were up to their antics again. I'm hoping that's all it was (pathetic to have to hope for such things, but it could be worse).
I agree, spaceage. WTF is wrong with people?

A couple years ago, some kids were going around shooting out car windows with BB guns. On at least two separate occasions they vandalized over a dozen cars each time. My neighbor's daughter's car unfornately got hit both times. It appeared that my POS Nissan got spared, but I noticed that it had a little round impact mark on the door frame. Lucked out. |

Older neighborhoods with "real" people. I went to perhaps the worst of the west side schools and even lived literally on the wrong side of the tracks on the wrong side of the valley. |

There's a lack of respect w/ most of todays yout's. They've had everything handed to them, there is a sense of entitlement that our generation didn't have, of course when I was in school you could still get a swat, I'm not sayin' I'm just sayin', part and parcel with the continuing vaginization of 'merka, if I can't earn it I'll just steal it. What would you do if you caught 'em red handed? |

Personally, I'd chase 'em up and down the residential streets of my neighborhood, steering my car with my right hand, and shooting at them out the window with my left hand. But that's just me.  |
