Should be interesting to see if that many ego's can work together. It doesn't/hasn't work as well as it should on paper at Real or Inter. For the talent they have had together over the years, they should have won everything, including league titles in leagues they didn't even play in.

Who is Ronaldinho? Is that just a different spelling of "Ronaldo" or is it a reference to this person?

Real or Inter

Or Chelsea.  They've had league titles but Champions League success has been tough to come by.  When you look at the value of that roster, a year with just the FA Cup and the Carling Cup is a HUGE underachievement.

I called it three years ago with them.  I don't think you can have a team where world class players spend time on the substitutes list and be successful (as defined by expections) in the long run.

That's what I love about AJAX and there system. They play a system and look for players that will fit the sysytem superstar or not. I know they don't dominate, but they are forever competing at that top level in a 'lesser' league and rarely make the mistake of pandering to superstars.

Agreed.  EPL is on the verge of ruining the entire player market.  Abramovich has a lot to answer for.    Undecided Embarrassed

Ironically, the team that is losing Henry may be described the same way historically.  Great developmental system and they've been a mainstay of the big three (big four now I guess) for ages without breaking the bank.  Certainly Arsenal and Liverpool have stayed roughly level with United and Chelsea despite spending far less money in recent years.

How is Henry sold for £16 million and Darren Bent seems to be on the block for £17 million?  Crazy stuff.

I hated to see Henry plucked from the Gunners - but if he's going to dress like that, what the hell  Wink

They did let him go rather cheap though.  Can't believe the injury concern would have that much affect on his value - hell, he's only 29.

Arsenal has some great young players, but I think they need someone up front to take some pressure off them until they gain some experience.

It will be interesting to see how long they can all stay happy together over at Barca... The part that always surprises me about wanting to compile a team of superstars is "How do you think they got to be superstars." Pretty sure it wasn't by playing a role and being a 'team player'. The minute things don't go perfectly, fingers start pointing (publicly and privately), team chemistry flies out the window and someone wants out. Kinda like Colin P and the Bush Administration. Okay, nothing like that at all. My Bad.
