WOW!!

That looks ugly.  If it's only two dead from that it will be remarkable.  The collapse all the way across has me wondering if it might have had some help coming down. Huh?

Woah!  From the height of the still-standing end points, that bridge must have fallen a long ways!  I can't imagine what it must have been like to be in a car on that bridge.

One of the photos I saw showed a school bus on one of the floating pieces - it just made my blood run cold.  The article did say that the children on the bus got out OK.

That's a disturbing picture.  This article says it's 64 feet down.

Workers have been repairing the 40-year-old bridge's surface all summer along that stretch of the interstate, StarTribune.com reported. The arched bridge rises about 64 feet above the river.

One 911 caller said she could see the construction workers using a jackhammers when the bridge collapsed close to her car. "She saw it and she said she just gunned it and just made it out of there," Tashia Brown, a 911 operator, told the StarTribune.com.

For me, not at all.  It is a (prolly the) main artery through town.  Heavy traffic.

Serious *feces*.  There is also a Twins game going on, so some 20k+ fans will have a difficult time getting out/home.

There will be no rush hour tomorrow.  This essentially shuts off the NE sub.s from downtown, and the South.

Bottom line............bad news all around.

Amazing.
