Alright, just spent my first two hours researching HDTV, etc. My mind is mush. I expect I'll have to invest 100+ hours just to learn the basics. It's gonna get ugly.

Why would you shell out big bucks for a HDTV and settle for nothing but SD programming? Seriously, that's crazy isn't it? Maybe I'm missing something. |

most of the buyers only budget for the tv, not content and peripherals. they want to be 'in'. then they see other similar buyers watching SD on an HDTV, and think that's as good as it needs to be.  |
