best buy has the a2 for $99 as well ! 2 free in store movies + 5 free via mail in rebate $100 hd-a2 at bestbuy if your local store still has any  |

I arrived at the store around 7:45. There was a line of 10-12 people already there in the electronics department. Sales clerk handed out a ticket for the item that you wanted to purchase. They started selling everything at 8:00. I was out of the store by 8:15. I purchased one HD-DVD player and 3 HD-DVD movies (Unforgiven, Blood Diamond, and Swordfish) for $150.00.
I was pretty impressed w/ the sales clerk and managers by the way they kept everything running smoothly.
The also had on sale:
- 50" plasma for $999
- acer laptop $359 (I think)
- Sony PS3 $399 (came w/ spidey 3 blu-ray dvd)

Excellent Teed.  I ran over to BB yesterday but they were out of A2s. Thought about Wal-mart this AM but decided to hang tight. I expect they'll go back up to at least $150 for the near term. I also think maybe the A3 will replace it at that price point next year. Since it's for upstairs I'll wait it out a bit. $100 player plus five free movies. Amazing really. The BD fanboys on AVS are falling all over themselves saying it means nothing more than Toshiba is desperate. Of course, the HD DVD fanboys have their own, sometimes ridiculous slant. Cast v. forged has nothing on blu v. red.  |
