Ketchup and onions.  Onions grilled or raw, either way.

Burger has to be medium to medium-well.  Otherwise it's just ground beef.

Just had two for dinner with some nice cotc which was still attached to the ground this morning.

Depends on my mood. Tomato, lettuce, mustard, onions, cheese, pickles are all acceptable toppings.

Oh yeah - Bleu Cheese burger done right is awesome.

I rarely put ketchup on my burgers anymore.

Home or away burger?

Either way: patty cooked 'til it's no longer pink in the center.

Away: lettuce, ketchup.  Maybe cheese, maybe bacon, depending on how well I've been eating recently.
Home: anything from [same as above] to just the patty, cold, as a leftover.

medium-well to well done.

If out and about, grilled onions and bacon with bbq sauce. If the grilled onions are not available, lettuce, tomato, onion (red onion preferably), mayo, mustard, ketchup, Bacon! sometimes cheese.

I never understand ($.02) the point of over 'topping' the burger. quality ground beef is SOOOO flavorful, i don't get the point of putting so many other things on it to dull out its flavor. this is particularly true for flavorful sweet sauces. i can get the aromatic crisp veggies to accentuate the savory beef flavor, and to add a new texture.  i also don't like the whole cold/hot mismatch with the lettuce/tomatoes and the beef.

Aske, my liking of ketchup may cross swords with what you say but I do agree in general.  Although I like lettuce and love tomatoes and cheese I don't put them on my burger - ever.  If it comes with all that I take it off.  And, to be honest, I use very little ketchup.

Every now and again I'll switch gears and go with nothing more than a little fresh salsa.  That's more of a change of pace thing than an equal preference.

Cheers, of course everyone has unique tastes/prefs.

btw, just noticed i missed earlier the post about the buffalo burger.  i like those, but actually like ostrich even more for an occasional changeup, although the meat is so lean most restaurants can't cook it to order.

Medium, medium rare if its bison (a local place has it).  Cheddar, red onion, thick sliced tomato, ketchup, mustard - perhaps a little lettuce as well.

I'll amend for two things...

1)  Home burger - I'll turn some onion soup mix into my ground beef, cook the burgers medium, no lettuce, little ketchup/mustard, but the cheddar and thick tomato stay.

2)  Because I remain true to myself no matter the uncoolness of it - I do occasionally like some mayo on my burger.  Boxing
