Yes Or No
« on: November 11, 2009, 07:41:45 PM »

The real estate gig ain't goin' so well.  It actually isn't goin' at all.  Not the market, I just have no clients or any sphere to draw from.

I'm reaching the end of my rope.  I don't know how Birdy has hung on so long.

Had two phone interviews today for an MRI job that looks pretty sweet.  Same money I used to make, etc., etc.  Seems like it may be mine if I want it.

The job is in California.  Tough decision.  Lot to think about.  Just thought I would throw it out to my friends to get your take.

TIA

Mike

LMAO!  I love Elvis.

As per usual you have been little help that I'm able to comprehend, but have lifted my spirits.  Grin

Palm Springs.

I did send off a resume for what would be a great job based out of the Bay Area with Nationwide, and potentially Worldwide travel, but haven't heard back from them.

Since Palm Springs is sort of a resort community, I would think the job would be similar to being a small town doctor. They probably have a difficult time filling position, but whoever takes the position has a very stable job.

Yes and no.  Very aggressive radiology group that is expanding (hence the opening(s))  They are actually opening 2 more outpatient imaging facilities between now and the first part of next year.

I was intrigued, as well them with me.  They are seeking the best of the best.  I seem to fit the bill.  They have interviewed a bunch of people, and well.....

Seriously, the next step is they are going to call me (probably as early as tomorrow) and offer to fly me out.

If it was just me? My clubs are set, and I'm farkin' cold already.  But do I uproot my family?

What does the family say?

Oh, and the making what you were making can only be equivalent if the cost of living there is equivalent.... I am just saying...

I've talked with Karen quite a bit.  She's pretty much on board with "You (we) have to do what what we have to do."  Haven't said anything to Maddie yet.

I know it's all relative on salary, but what I'm looking at now is something is better than nothing.

BTW,  no response from anything in Dallas.   Sad  *fudge* 'em.   Grin

As for the family, what about your wife's employment situation? Will she be looking to find a job too?

I got no choice. I can't sell my house, can't get a job and am living off my injury settlement.  Dunno

What strikes me right off the bat about your job offer is you said "same money". That isn't going to cut it in California, your standard of living will definitely be going down.

LOL  Funny you should ask.    She works for the same company I did.  Since I was fired, her eyes have really been opened, and she is quite disenchanted and looking to leave.  Wasn't looking to leave to Cali. mind you, but unhappy nonetheless.

So Kismet, and all that really.  This joint is opening up new places, and looking to staff them.  She does what they are looking for.  Front Desk/Reception/Scheduling/etc.  They get a two fer.  We get a two fer.

Could be just like here.  She works at one, I work at another.  Only difference I see is that Maddie wears Flip-Flops year 'round.

Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

Excellent point.  Just that right now I'm earning zero.  So it has to equate to better than that.
