golfhos NFL 2007 prognostication contest.

so here goes....

minimum prizes (might be more if there's interest to make this a small 'buyin' event)
1st place- $20 golf galaxy gift card
2nd place- lump of coal  (j/k not really sure yet)

Contest Format
You shall submit your predictions for the following.

Division order, with team W/L records
Playoff seeds w/ results
Superbowl w/ results


You will be awarded points in the following manner
Division Winners: 40 points
Division 2nd places: 20 points
Bonus of 20/10 for getting the exact W/L correct (to help possible tiebreakers if everyone just plays the 'vegas favorites')

Playoff seeds exactly correct 100 points
Playoff seeds 1-4 correct 50 points

Wild Card Round winners 50 points
Divisional round winners 80 points
Conference final winners 100 points
SuperBowl winner 200 points (+100 for exact score of winning team)


Highest final point tally wins.


Of course, as with anything NFL, who knows what will happen- luck, injuries, etc. 
- so to balance it all out....  Wink

Entries must be submitted by August 27th (end of 3rd week of preseason)



I will post a  'template' for people to fill in later this week

Very cool.   Thumbs Up

I suggest weekly leaderboards based on current division/conference standings.  Tough when it gets down to tiebreakers but we don't have to go that deep.  I'd volunteer to do it but I'll likely still be working on my son's brakes.  I nominate Clive if you're too busy buying televisions.

P.S.  If needed, I still have those feckin' prizes from the previous contests.  Why do you all hate Billy Joel?

i think we can keep it pretty weekly up to date  as long as everyone does the template (part of the delay i had in the NHL playoffs was no entries were standardized- made it hard to implement a spreadsheet!)
